In his novel, Snake Eyes, John Jay Richardson draws on the current gaming climate of Memphis, TN, one of the largest casino feeder markets in the U.S., as a setting for his fictional private investigator, Alex Stone, to become embroiled in a plot to legalize gambling in Tennessee and Shelby County.
In Snake Eyes, Alexander Hamilton Stone, ex-convict, Vietnam vet, T'ai Chi practitioner, and private detective jogs into an alley on a cold December Memphis morning to discover his friend, Memphis Police Detective Felton Bradshaw, murdered and himself the prime suspect. And, this is the high point of the day for Stone in his debut caper.
